The Saskatchewan region hosted their 26th annual steel construction industry golf tournament on August 25th. The golf tournament was hosted once at the Moonlake Golf and Country Club, just southwest of Saskatoon and attracted 45 golfers (37 members & associates and 8 industry guests) for a day of golfing and networking under the clear, sunny prairie skies. We had a number of first time attenders which is always appreciated. This event is normally held in early September but due to booking conflicts at the golf course it was held 2 weeks earlier. This change in scheduling and the ongoing economic challenges being faced by Saskatchewan businesses were the prime factors in our lower than normal attendance. Despite the lower numbers, all the attendees had a marvelous time playing a round of best-ball team golf and building relationships within the steel construction industry. Special thanks to our hole sponsors for their support of this event. We had our first ever Hole in One contest featured this year, thanks to Commercial Sandblasting and Painting. Unfortunately, no one was able to claim the $10,000 prize although a few came very close. Special thanks to our planning committee headed by Kris Erickson (Varsteel) for his work in organizing and hosting the event.
