This Privacy Policy of the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (“CISC”) describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you:

Personal information we collect
When you visit the sites, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the sites, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the sites, and information about how you interact with the sites. We refer to this automatically collected information as “Device Information”.

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:
– “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. When we talk about “Personal Information” relating to Ecommerce, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information.

If you submit a question or inquiry, CISC may refer your request to an outside third-party expert, including any personally identifiable information in your e-mail or faxed request for the purposes of responding to your request.

As described above, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you. CISC Members & Associates

Applications
When you submit an application to join the CISC as a member or associate, you agree that the information contained within the application may be shared either on our website, portal, or to a third party (in order to carry out our services).  You also agree to the CISC contacting you by any means, including email.  Additionally, you agree that other CISC Members and CISC Associates will have access to your contact information and may contact you.

CISC Member & Associate Database and Portal

As a CISC Member or Associate, you agree to allow for certain information you provided visible and accessible by the public (on CISC platforms) and additional information available and accessible within the CISC Member and Associate online portal available and accessible by the other CISC Members and Associates. The list of data accessible by the public and within the CISC portal by other CISC Members and Associates is listed in your personal on-line profile.

Participant in a CISC event, course, webinar, award or other

Any participant, entry or winner in a CISC event, course, webinar or award agrees to allow CISC to use their name, contact information, picture and affiliation for contact and marketing purposes. The participant also agrees to allow the CISC to use, reproduce and distribute any and all materials submitted in the course of any submission or entry royalty and credit free.

Applications are intended to include the following, but are not limited to: award winners, competition entrants, attendees to events, course participants, those who receive accreditations and certifications, send pictures and/or articles to the CISC and articles written by the CISC about companies or individuals.

CISC Members and CISC Associates and those contained in our database agree to being contacted by any means by the CISC, including email.

Contact and Mailing Lists

CISC does maintain an email and mailing list databases for communication and the delivery of information and services specific to the activities of the CISC.  Any individual or company interacting with the CISC in any manner, providing email addresses, mailing addresses, or other contact information to the CISC agrees to allow this information to be included in the databases and used for the purposes mentioned above.
