Structural Engineer

A-1 Detailing & Engineering is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with at least 5 years of experience.
We are looking for an Employee who is dedicated, hardworking and a team player with a positive attitude.

Qualifications and Skills:

· Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) registered in NB with a minimum 5 years of structural engineering experience.
· Familiar with CAD software: Tekla, AutoCAD, etc.
· Experience with steel fabrication, welded and bolted connections considered an asset.
· Understand building codes, by-laws, space requirements, site requirements, and other technical documents and reports.
· Strong written and oral communication skills.
· Demonstrates the values of safety, teamwork, service, integrity and accountability.
· Experience in a supervisory or managerial role will be considered as an asset.
· Valid Driver’s Licence.

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

· Experience in structural steel fabrication

Prepare structural calculations, for steel connection. Complete connection design sketches to be used by steel detailers
· Check and review shop drawings, erection drawings and fabrication documents.
· Project Management
· Conduct field reviews and site inspection as required and troubleshoot issues on job and production sites.
· Collaborate with external consultants and drafting contractors for assigned projects.
· Other duties as required.
