Description
• Coordinate/distribute and log information from the client/other trades to Norak team (drafting, engineering, OWSJ, erectors etc.)
• Keep client informed of any coordination issues/conflicts from other trades that will affect our work/schedule.
• Issue, log and monitor RFIs, update client and PM weekly on any outstanding items.
• Review all approval drawings for revisions/changes and advise the PM accordingly.
• Review subtrade shop drawings for accuracy with contract drawings.
• Organize/attend “project kick off” meeting with Norak team (drafting, erectors, engineering, purchasing etc.) and take minutes.
• Prepare detailed purchase orders to sub-contractors listing schedule commitment deadlines, all current project bid documents, payment terms etc., immediately after “kick-
off” meeting (sub-contractors are then committed and notified) for PM review
• Regularly review the project schedule ensure milestones are on course and advise the PM of any delays.
• Attend subcontractor progress meetings in order to have working knowledge of the current project status, issues, and record the information for our records.
• Log and maintain pertinent correspondence for the construction project from start to finish.
• Assist PM in preparing extras (obtaining quotations from subtrades, add and delete sheets, reviewing changes for cost implications) and log/maintain the associated
project documentation.
• Coordinates with shipping department/shop regarding the status and priorities of delivery/fabrication as per the PM’s direction and advises of any potential issues.
• Maintains and organizes project folders/log sheets.
• Assist PM with any other tasks required to help coordinate the projects.
• Goes above and beyond if required will work outside of working times/areas.
• Maintains & furthers client relations for the duration of the project he/she is coordinating.
Qualifications
Education: College or University diploma/degree, a Combination of Formal & Practical Experience
Experience: Specific to Structural Steel Industry: Ability to read drawings, experience in C.E.T. or Structural Steel work, engineering technologist, drawing or field experience estimating.
Skills: FabTrol, Microsoft Office (incl. Project), Estimating, Multi-tasking, Organization.
