Detailer

Marid Industries Limited is recruiting for the position of Junior / Intermediate Detailer to join our drafting and engineering team. Typical Marid projects vary from structural steel buildings, miscellaneous steel (stairs and railings), bridges, and renovations. We have a great team of hard-working employees with various levels of experience and expertise. We are looking to hire someone that fits into our team core for the foreseeable future and this person can be either Junior graduating from school or Intermediate level with 5 years (+/-) of experience. The goal is to grow with our team moving forward as you strive to reach Senior Level.

Qualifications

• A completed Civil Engineering Technology program or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and organizing skills is a requirement.
• 3 Dimensional modelling (Tekla/Revit) experience is an asset.
• Formal AutoCAD training.
• Formal drafting training.
• Ability to draw sketches or details on paper is an asset (for checking and communication purposes).
• Knowledge of basic bolted & welded connection design, and welding symbols
• Ability to work with math concepts such as percentages, ratios, areas and volume
• Familiarization with industry standards (CISC and AISC).
• Knowledge of the National and Provincial Building Codes is an asset.

Duties/ Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineers, Project Managers, Senior Detailers, and customers/clients to translate customer information into Marid produced drawings and ensure drawings are accurate, concise, and detailed so shop fabrication and erection of steel operates efficiently.
• Create multiple reports such as RFI’s, buy lists, bolt lists, etc.
• Supporting the fabrication and erection team with troubleshooting on daily challenges
