Manitoba’s Career Day welcomed all trades throughout the province to meet with eager and curious students.
CISC Manitoba partnered with welders, iron workers, inspectors and detailers from the steel industry to help promote the various career opportunities available in the structural steel sector. We had representatives from Iron Workers Local #728, Arcweld Industries, Abesco Ltd., Axis Inspection, Lincoln Electric, Welders Supply, Jordan Detailers and Rossdale Machine.
Students had the chance to speak directly with our tradespeople to discuss the ins and outs of the trades, as well as learn about the growth of the steel industry. They were encouraged to try out different demonstrations, including welding, walking a beam, computer detailing and lifting materials with a forklift!
