Senior Detailer

Cherubini Metal Works, a member of the Cherubini Group of Companies, is currently looking for a Senior Detailer to join our team in Dartmouth, NS!

Duties/ Responsibilities

• Assist with detailing operations.
• Maintain and manage project files.
• Editing and cleaning Drawings in Various Cad packages and Tekla Structures
• Project modeling and overseeing the creation of project models and drawings.
• Creation of RFI’s and Project related documentation.
• Checking of Shop Detail and General arrangement Drawings.
• Ability to pre-check a Tekla Structures Model for conformance relating to Design Documents and Connection design.
• Knowledge of MIS software and exporting data to MIS software.
• Knowledge of importing Survey information into Tekla Structures.
• Knowledge of Importing reference models into Tekla Structures. Revit IFC exports for example.
• Knowledge in secondary support software such as MS-Office.

Requirements

Experience in a Structural/Misc Steel fabrication environment is an asset.
• Knowledge of AISC and CISC Structural Steel Detailing standards;
• The ability to pay close attention to detail, precision and accuracy;
• Minimum 10 years experience as a steel detailer; with structural Steel & miscellaneous metals.
• Strong interpersonal, communication skills and a clear understanding of the English language in both Oral and Written form.
• Able to safely perform duties with a minimum amount of supervision.
• The ability to apply advanced math skills including trigonometry or camber calculations for trusses, as an example.
• Must have an advanced understanding of Tekla Structures settings and environments.
• Formal Technical Institute and/or University training is an asset but not a requirement. Advanced Professional experience can be accepted in combination with education.
