FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HALIFAX, NS (September 17, 2025) — The Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC) is proud to present the 2025 Atlantic Region Awards of Excellence in Steel Construction, the region’s premier celebration of steel innovation and achievement. Held on September 19 at the Lord Nelson Hotel and Suites in Halifax, this gala event will honour the most exceptional steel construction projects and the teams behind them.

The awards recognize projects that exemplify complexity, creativity, and originality in steel. From architectural landmarks to engineering marvels, entries are submitted by architects, engineers, fabricators, contractors, and developers across Atlantic Canada — individually or in collaboration.

“With the ongoing trade challenges the steel sector is facing, it’s so important that the industry comes together to celebrate our accomplishments and reignite the passion that drives Canada’s steel construction industry forward and builds vital infrastructure across the Maritimes and Canada,” said Keanin Loomis, President and CEO of the CISC.

The evening will also include remarks from distinguished regional leaders, including The Honourable Nolan Young, Minister of Labour, Skills and Immigration; Tom Taggart, Member of the Legislative Assembly of Nova Scotia; and Andy Fillmore, Mayor of Halifax.

Thanks to overwhelming participation and the steadfast support of CISC members, this celebration promises to be a defining night for the Atlantic Region’s steel community.
