Job Purpose
To develop, promote and market CISC, CISC membership, and steel as the construction material of choice to all construction stakeholders with the goal of increasing the % use of steel in construction.
Key Results:
1. Marketing
- Assist in the development and delivery of marketing programs at the National and Regional level
- Develop and execute short and long range marketing plans based on National and Regional objectives
- Educate and promote stakeholders on the benefits of steel
- Organize and deliver promotional activities to promote the Steel industry
- Provide presentations at least annually in all areas of the Region to architects, consulting engineers, developers, building officials, educators, members, potential members and other stakeholders
- Develop effective liaison with related organizations within the Regional area to ensure CISC representation and cooperation regarding steel industry issues.
- Develop effective liaison with architects, consulting engineers, developers, local government agencies and educators to promote the understanding and scope of what the steel industry can offer.
- Forward projects in development to the Engineering department (PAD) and follow up. Provide presentation assistance as required
- Provide presentation assistance on technical engineering presentations to consultants or stakeholders in cooperation and consultation with the Engineering team
- Represent the CISC on committees as required and provide reports/updates of each meeting
- Increase membership
- Increase steel % market share of construction (capture and maintain KPI in Region)
2. Effective Management of the Regional CISC.
- Develops timely and effective Regional budgets for approval
- Maintains within budget with no deficit
- Provides agendas for meetings and related documentation to members atleast 2 weeks prior to the meeting. Sends out minutes of meetings no later than 10 business days after the meeting.
- Ensures proper reporting system reflecting the activities and budgetary aspects are done in an timely and efficient manner;
- Ensures full compliance with CISC policies, procedures and activities are consistent with legal requirements for not-for-profit organizations and industry associations;
- Ensures that the resources and technical aspects that are needed to assist the Regional members and the Regional community at large with codes and standards related to the Steel industry are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.
- Plan, participate and report on Regional Meetings to Head Office in a timely manner. Participate in AGM meetings and other related steel association meetings and events on a regional and national level as required.
- Administer and monitor Regional sponsorship/educational programs which CISC sponsors in the Region.
- Ensures excellent communication and liaison with the Regional Membership; Fellow Regional Representatives; the President and Board of Directors and the community at large.
- Works in cooperation with the National Event Planner and Marketing & Communication Coordinator to provide professional events and documents within budget.
3. Performs all other assigned duties assigned by the VP of Operations in a professional and timely manner.
Special Job Requirements:
- Diploma in a post secondary institution preferably in marketing, business or construction (or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years work experience in construction, marketing, or business
