Steel Detailer

Solid Rock Steel Fabricating is looking for a full time Steel Detailer to join our team. We are custom structural steel and miscellaneous metal fabricators. Must be competent and experienced in working on highly detailed miscellaneous metals.

As a Detailer you would work as a member of the Solid Rock Steel team alongside Project Managers to prepare detailed shop and erection drawings.

Qualifications

• High level of knowledge of industry standard detailing practices.
• Successful completion of steel detailing training; preferred structural detailing certificate.
• At least 3 years experience in a detailing role; experience detailing miscellaneous metals is preferred (canopies, stairs, handrails, etc.).
• Proficiency in TEKLA Structures software is preferred.

Duties/ Responsibilities

• Review and interpret structural and architectural plans from contractor to provide detailed shop and erection drawings.
• Use Tekla and/or Autocad to develop layout, drawings, and designs that meet expectations and specifications.
• Consult with the Project Management team as to the ‘constructability’ of the items.
• Proper file maintenance on all assigned projects.
• Occasional site visits for field measurements.
