CISC Project Solutions Cost Estimating Method for Steel Building Structures
To assist designers and estimators in selecting economical steel framing systems for buildings, this guide provides a “do-it-yourself” method for estimating the cost of erected structural steel. The method is widely used by construction professionals, as well as CISC members and staff. Several updates have been implemented to reflect significant changes in the steel industry since the previous 1979 edition, including:
– Elimination of cost premiums for 350 MPa (50 ksi) steels and imported wide-flange sections
– A new feature to account for cost differences between members in Conventional Construction and those used in more ductile seismic force-resisting frames.
