SUMMARY:2018 ASCE/AISC National Student Steel Bridge Competition
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) is hosting the 2018 National Student Steel Bridge Competition (NSSBC). The event will be held on May 25-26\, 2018 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. \nThis year\, 42 qualifying teams from conferences held throughout the United States\, Canada\, China and Mexico have been invited to compete at the national level. \nThe 2018 ASCE/AISC NSSBC welcomes university students to participate in a two-day event that challenges the design\, fabrication and building of a steel bridge that meets client specifications. Each team will be assessed on the speed and accuracy of assembly\, as well as the lightness\, stiffness\, safety and construction economy of their final product. \nOnly one team will overcome all the project obstacles and be crowned the 2018 national winner! \nThe NSSBC has been providing students a fun and interactive experience for over 25 years. The Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC) is a proud sponsor of the NSSBC and the Canadian teams who qualify to participate in it. \nThese Canadian teams that have advanced to compete at the 2018 ASCE/AISC NSSBC: \n– Ecole de technologie superior\n– Universite Laval\n– University of British Columbia\n– University of New Brunswick \nGood luck to all the teams participating and to the 2018 CSCE/CISC Canadian National Steel Bridge Competition winner and runners-up. \n  \nClick here for more info \n  \n  \n  \n  \n
