The presentation will focus strictly on the process that an erector follows to identify the costs that have to be considered when pricing the installation of any type of steel structure including buildings, pipe racks, and tanks to bridges. We’ll start with the preliminary review of the tender documents, bonus and penalty clauses, identifying the effect of location, schedule, and commuting and travel costs, and all of the components that are standard on every job such as site surveys, unloading and handling, assembly, plumbing, bolting, welding, touch-up painting, fall protection, hoisting and handling equipment, consumables, field expenses, freight and site overheads. This webinar provides an understanding of what goes into effective cost estimating of structural steel erection.
After establishing the cost of a project the presentation will finish with contingencies, profit, subcontracts and taxes.
A spreadsheet will be used to following the discussion.
