The new circus school in Montreal opened in 2003 and is the only institution of its kind in Canada. Students from all across the country come here to study the circus arts.

The building uses a primary steel structural system throughout. The program has a multitude of different space requirements that must be fit within a regular exterior geometry. These spaces include multi-height rooms for the practice of circus manoeuvres, as well as more typical classroom components.

The front facade, which faces south, is completed in a steel frame and grating sun protection system to prevent overheating of the largely daylit space within.
