The renovation to the Ricoh Centre received the CISC Ontario Region 2004 Honourable Mention in the Engineering category.

The project involved the major retrofit of the existing CNE pavilion to serve as a column free rink/event space. The existing roof structure was demolished. The existing historic masonry exterior wall retained -- and a new clear span steel truss structure installed in the space.
