Braid Station is part of the new Vancouver Millennium Line, extension to the above grade transit system for the Greater Vancouver Area. The stations were part of a high design initiative by the Rapid Transit Authority.

The Braid Station uses a combination of structural steel and glue laminated timbers to create the structure for the enclosure. The station uses daylight as the primary source of lighting with large glazed wall sections as well as skylighting down the central part of the platform.

More information on the design and construction of the Millennium Line stations is available through the Steel Structures Education Foundation CD-ROM, Volume Two. See www.ssef-ffca.ca for more details
